The Oak Orchard Fly Shop was established in 1993 on the banks of the now famous Oak Orchard Creek. At the beginning of 1998 the shop was relocated to Williamsville, NY to better serve the growing Western New York customer base and service a wider variety of destination waters. In 2003 we expanded our offering to the World with oakorchardflyshop.com! Our bricks and mortar store was completed in 2007.
The Oak Orchard Fly Shop carries an extensive and complete fly fishing inventory as well as Patagonia clothing. The inventory has been carefully selected to provide the highest quality at all price ranges. ALL of our flies are tied locally and many were created on local waters!
Service
Aside from the top brands in fly fishing and active sportswear, Oak Orchard Fly Shop operates a guide and travel service (through Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters), holds many classes, schools and slide shows for fly tying, casting, and general fly fishing knowledge. We pride ourselves as being a trusted source for advice and direction.
Experience
The shop is managed by Nick Pionessa who has over 25 years of fly fishing experience and more than 15 years as a guide and retail operations manager, as well as being a professional fly tier and avid photographer. Our shop consultant, Rick Kustich, has over 30 years experience fly fishing and has authored many books and articles on fly fishing. Our travel guide partner, Vince Tobia, has spent over 25 years fishing the waters of Western New York, and the last 10+ of those as a guide. Vince also takes Oak Orchard Fly Shop clients on trips to the Bahamas and western United States destinations. Collectively our shop staff and guides compile over a century of fly fishing experience and looks forward to serving our clients to the best of our ability.
